Professional online t-shirt design toolkit with text tools, image upload, layer controls and print-ready 300 DPI output for custom apparel

Design Tool Features: What You Can Create

A complete guide to our online design tools – understand exactly what you can do before you start.
Our design tool gives you everything you need to create custom apparel. This page explains each feature so you know what’s possible and how to get the best results.

Text Tools

Add custom text to your designs with full control over appearance.

What You Can Do:

  • Add text anywhere – Click to place text on any print area
  • Choose fonts – Select from our library of print-ready fonts
  • Change colours – Pick any colour for your text
  • Resize freely – Make text as large or small as needed
  • Rotate text – Angle your text for creative layouts
  • Edit anytime – Double-click text to change the wording

Tips for Best Results:

  • Use bold, simple fonts for small text – they print more clearly
  • Dark text on light shirts (or light text on dark shirts) gives best contrast
  • Leave margin space around text so it doesn’t print too close to seams
  • Preview your design at actual size to check text is readable

Limitations:

  • Font selection is from our library (you cannot upload custom fonts)
  • Very small text (under 8pt equivalent) may not print clearly

Image Upload

Add your own images, logos, and artwork to create unique designs.

Supported Formats:

What You Can Do:

  • Upload from device – Select files from your computer, phone, or tablet
  • Drag and drop – On desktop, drag images directly onto the canvas
  • Take a photo – On mobile, capture directly from your camera
  • Resize images – Scale up or down to fit your design
  • Rotate images – Turn images to any angle
  • Position freely – Place images anywhere on the print area

Tips for Best Results:

  • Upload high resolution – At least 300 DPI at the size you want to print
  • Use PNG for logos – Transparent backgrounds work better on coloured shirts
  • Check image rights – Only use images you own or have permission to use
  • Avoid tiny images – Small images enlarged will look pixelated when printed

File Size Limit:

  • Maximum 10MB per image
  • Larger files may take longer to upload on slower connections

What We Don’t Support:

  • PDF files (convert to PNG or JPG first)
  • AI or PSD files (export as PNG from your design software)
  • Animated GIFs (static image will be used)

Print Areas

Design on multiple locations on your garment.

Available Print Areas:

Depending on the product, you may be able to design on:
  • Front – Main chest area
  • Back – Full back print area
  • Left Sleeve – Left arm (smaller print area)
  • Right Sleeve – Right arm (smaller print area)
  • Pocket – Small area where a pocket would sit
  • Label/Neck – Inside neck label area

How It Works:

  1. Select a print area from the view options
  1. Add your design elements to that area
  1. Switch to another area to add more designs
  1. Each area is printed separately

Pricing:

  • Each print area used adds to the total price
  • Areas without designs are not charged
  • Pricing is shown as you design

Tips:

  • Start with the front – it’s the most visible area
  • Keep sleeve designs small and simple
  • Check the print boundary guides to ensure your design fits

Positioning & Sizing

Control exactly where your design appears.

What You Can Do:

  • Click and drag – Move elements anywhere on the canvas
  • Resize handles – Drag corners to make elements larger or smaller
  • Rotate – Turn elements to any angle
  • Precise placement – On desktop, use arrow keys for fine adjustments

Visual Guides:

  • Print boundary – Shows the printable area (stay inside this)
  • Centre guides – Help you align elements to the middle
  • Product mockup – See how your design sits on the actual garment

Tips:

  • Leave at least 1cm margin from the print boundary edge
  • Centre important elements for a professional look
  • Check all views before ordering to ensure placement is correct

Layer Management

Control which elements appear in front of others.

What You Can Do:

  • Bring to front – Move an element above all others
  • Send to back – Move an element behind all others
  • Stack order – Arrange overlapping elements

When You Need This:

  • Text over an image background
  • Multiple overlapping graphics
  • Creating layered design effects

Undo & Redo

Made a mistake? No problem.

What You Can Do:

  • Undo – Reverse your last action
  • Redo – Bring back something you undid
  • Multiple undos – Step back through several changes

Desktop Shortcuts:

  • Undo: Ctrl+Z (Windows) or ⌘+Z (Mac)
  • Redo: Ctrl+Y (Windows) or ⌘+Shift+Z (Mac)

Preview & Mockups

See your design on the actual product before ordering.

What You Get:

  • Real-time preview – Changes appear instantly on the mockup
  • Product colours – Switch colours to see how your design looks on different options
  • Multiple views – See front, back, and other areas you’ve designed

What the Preview Shows:

  • Approximate placement on the garment
  • How colours interact with the shirt colour
  • Overall design composition

Important Note:

Mockups are representative previews. Final printed products will match your uploaded artwork colours – not the screen display (screens vary).

Colour Selection

What You Can Do:

  • Browse colours – See all available colours for your chosen product
  • Preview your design – See how your artwork looks on each colour
  • Select before checkout – Choose your final colour before adding to cart

Tips:

  • Dark designs work best on light shirts
  • Light designs work best on dark shirts
  • Bright shirt colours may affect how some design colours appear

Size Selection & Ordering

What You Can Do:

  • View available sizes – See all sizes for your chosen product
  • Select multiple sizes – Order different sizes in one go
